The end of the beginning...

So, somehow, I'm done with school. My freshman year of college is gone and I can never get it back! This just isn't right! Being a sophomore will force me to be more responsible, engaged, and serious, right? Gosh, I hope so about the first two, and I hope not about the last one. Seriousness is boring, and I really hate boring.

Anyway, so I'm about to embark upon SUMMER. I think summer is such a tease, personally. You always expect it to last forever, and it goes by ridiculously fast, and almost everything that happens doesn't matter. Summers can be brutal, too, if you're not too busy. So much time to reflect can be bad. I think summer, if not planned well, or spontaneously enjoyed, can be disastrous. I guess that's why people always notice how much their friends have "changed" after summer. It's just weird because summer doesn't technically give a person as much time as the school year to dramatically change- there's just more time to think about yourself, so you get a drastic haircut, lose a lot of weight, become a vegetarian, etc. Summer is our time to change ourselves before a new year begins, so we don't repeat the same "faux pas" of the previous year.

We need summer, but it just goes by so quickly.

But, for now, it hasn't even officially started yet, so I'm going to continue to dream about it :)

  1. You're a college sophomore! yay!! College does go by fast...yet slow at the same time...My first semester of college was Fall 05...and that seems like such a short time ago...yet a lot has happened since then that makes it seem like quite a good deal of time has passed...It's all perspective i guess!! I'm actually glad to have one extra semester of college before i hit the real world. College is a time that can be stressful, but is also filled with opportunities to try new things and figure out who you are...that being said, it also prolongs adolescence in a way too...but that's another story! American youth seem to have the longest period of time devoted to figuring out life, yet I often wonder if all that time is actually setting us back. We get too stuck on becoming our "best selves" and don't actually really live it out. We are too stuck in our imaginations...
Anyway, that was a super long post. I have too much time on my hands! Only one exam to study for and its not until Wednesday. Crazy! Tomorrow I am going to church in the morning (i love this church! Wish you could visit it!), taking more photos in the afternoon, and then prob. going to another service in the evening...Crazy i know! But what better thing to do on a Sunday when you have extra time? :)
Today i went to get ice cream at this little stand that has the cow farm right next door. They had calves and it was sweet! Best ice cream too! Maybe we can go when we go on the Deerfield excursion in August!
Well, that's all i'm gonna write for the moment since my roomie and I are going to watch a movie!..I'll see you soon though, one way or another! :)
    Love Peace and Tofu!
